It is a little more than slightly frightening how quickly AI is taking over in our lives and how many people are now using it in their day-to-day online interactions. As the line between the real and the fake becomes even thinner and more blurred, we have to take even more care to keep ourselves safe and secure so, to this effect, I’ve attached a leaflet.
I received this through the cybercrime team at the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary and is a simple guide introducing us to the dangers of AI out there and tips as to how to stay safe online. On the third page, there is information about ‘Get Safe Online’ itself which contains a link at the bottom which takes you to their website home page. On there you’ll find an item entitled ‘Spot the AI’ which takes you to a short quiz which, to my mind (I didn’t score too highly!) illustrates how technology has changed our perception of the real and, of course, will continue to do so.
Their website also contains much other helpful information to help us keep safe in this increasingly digital world and is a very useful resource.
