Webmaster’s Christmas Puzzles – 2025

Hello everybody and I hope this message finds you happy and healthy. If not, cheer-up and/or get well soon 😉

Sorry, but you may have noticed that it’s that time of year again and I’ve found the keys to the Puzzle Engine.

Based on last year’s Festive Christmas Puzzles, I’ve decided to do the same again this year. For anyone who follows the GCHQ or Turing puzzles, my ones are WAY MORE difficult (not).

As last year, this message will stick at the top of our Home page and at least one new puzzle will be added every day up until Christmas Day.

The latest puzzle will always be at the top of the list, but you can always scroll down the page to find earlier ones. You won’t get an email every day, so just re-visit the page, typically around 9.30am.

The technology is still a bit experimental, so I hope these work for you. Generally, they work well on an iPad or tablet as some are a bit fiddly on a mobile phone. They should also be fine on an old school laptop or desktop. Note that these puzzles are not really accessible or compatible with screen reading software – Sorry 🙁

Here are the Puzzles – Have Fun!

Day No. 8 – Thursday, December 25th – Christmas Day

So this is the last puzzle day – I’m off for a lie down. Today, there is nothing taxing – it’s a simple jigsaw with a message.

Thank you for having a go at my puzzles – I hope you enjoyed them, at least a little bit.

Day No. 7 – Wednesday, December 24th – Christmas Eve

And so we are drawing towards the end of the 2025 Christmas Puzzles. “Thank goodness” I hear you all cry. (You know I only do it to annoy you all!)

Today we have a bunch of puzzles for you to try. Tomorrow is Christmas Day and puzzles will be the last for this year – but I promise I’ll keep it simple so you can enjoy you presents.

First up it’s a tasty crossword.

And this is a slightly different take on suduko. Built by my old friend Huckleberry Hound. Remember him?

Now a wordsearch based on the best programme on BBC Radio 4. You know what I’m going to say don’t you! It’s The Archers. Dum-de-dum de-dum de-dum etc.

Another Picdoku? You know you want to!

And now a couple of (not) Wordles

A final suduko… This one is not the easiest.

Day No. 6 – Tuesday, December 23rd

Today we have three (not) Wordles and a Wordsearch. Some have said that my crossword clues are difficult (mostly my wife) but hopefully you are more in-tune with my way of thinking. No crossword today – she needs a lie down 😉

Here’s a (not) Wordle or two (or three) following the general themes of Christmas and Winter.

Not strictly Christmas themed or even winter themed. You may hate it, but I think it’s Fab-u-lous.

Day No. 5 – Monday, December 22nd

A bumper set of puzzles today. A Jigsaw, a Crossword and a couple of Sudukos. You’ll maybe get some (not) Wordles tomorrow if you’re good.

It seems those nasty panto weasels are stalking the forest floor, looking for a tasty snack. This little fella should be tucked up and hibernating, but all the noise a Toad Hall has woken him up.

So this Crossword is more Winter themed rather than Christmas themed, just to stretch your brains.

And for the Suduko fans, here’s one to be getting on with. This one is a Medium difficulty.

And here’s an easier one…

Day No. 4 – Sunday, December 21st

It’s a special puzzle day today! A Mini-crossword that contains a password to an old-skool retro game you may have played in your youth. I used to love playing this game in the pub, so I decided to write a version to test my coding skills. Click here to launch the secret game after you’ve solved the mini-crossword below.

And if that’s not enough, here’s another (not) Wordle for you to wrestle with.

Day No. 3 – Saturday, December 20th

Let’s have a Crossword puzzle today, though I’d rather call it a Happyword puzzle. This is slightly unusual in that it’s not symmetrical, however don’t let the lack of symmetry put you off.

Day No. 2 – Friday, December 19th

I’m feeling generous today (not like me, I know!), so here are a couple of puzzles to enjoy with your Friday cuppa.

Now everybody loves a Wordsearch – so here’s a Christmas themed search for you to puzzle over.

Made by The Wordsmith with the free clever thingy from Amuse Labs

And how about a (not) Wordle to go with your Wordsearch. You may recall that I can’t call it Wordle because that name is trademarked by the New York Times. Tut!

Day No.1 – Thursday, December 18th

Let’s start off with a Jigsaw. Last year someone actually managed to lose a piece! I never got to the bottom of that conundrum, so this year I’ve opened a brand new box.

There are some new options to (maybe) help you. You can choose to do the 88 piece puzzle, the 48 piece or the 24 piece. Just select this in the header of the puzzle. Also, at the footer of the puzzle, you can toggle “Edges only” or “All pieces” to work on the edges only.

That’s the end of the puzzles!
