Hello everyone,
Steve has sent this to me to circulate to you all about the big event being held in the village in a couple of weeks time. It promises to be great fun with entertainment for all ages with the high probability of the usual descent into typical All Saints party mode as the evening progresses!
Thanks,
Michael
PS This message of mine has only two sentences – OK, perhaps three with this PS but it is possible!
Not long to go now! All Saints Parish Council’s Commemorative Gala afternoon and evening Proms is on September 13th from 2pm to 9pm, at the All Saints Pavilion and Cricket field, just off Goldsmiths Lane.
Entry is free!!
Fingers crossed for good weather.Family fun and games in the afternoon with some side stalls including our own Environmental Group, a Tombola, the Royal British Legion,, Axminster Heritage Centre and some wartime vehicles.
Fancy a Boules competition, some “Welly Wanging”, a bit of croquet and maybe a “Tug-O’-War”?Refreshments available throughout the event including a licensed bar.
Oh, and don’t forget to “Bring along your Teddy Bear“! We’re planning a “Celebration of the Teddy Bear” with a pseudo Teddy Bears Picnic where your favourite cuddly toy may gain some well deserved recognition for being there for you. Bring them along and join in with the well known 1930’s song.
The evening Proms will see local musical talent performing some contemporary songs, eclectic instrumentals and even a bit of opera! As mentioned above, entry to all this is FREE!
Oh! and by the way, we’re offering hot food from around 5pm until the Proms starts. £5 will get you a plate of curry or a hot dog including a drink of your choice!
One thing to note. The mobile signal and lack of internet at the cricket field means that all transaction need to be £cash!Steve
