I hope not! But you could sign-up to the 2025 Bat Survey to help understand the distribution and species of bats in your neck of the woods.
It’s easy to do – basically follow the link below and book a date. If you’re lucky you’ll get a bat detector for 3 days to set up somewhere safe and secure (your garden sounds favourite to me). Leave it running, then afterwards upload the data to the Bat Survey people.
It doesn’t matter if you haven’t seen bats flying around your house, it doesn’t mean they’re not there.
First come – first served. You must be able to collect and return the device to the nearest hub, which for most of us would be Colyton. The registration opens on May 6th, 2025 so don’t miss out.
