Archery – 1st April 2025

Well, fools or not – a good number of archers turned out for a sunny (if breezy) afternoon of shooting.

The gusty wind did make a difference (my excuse, anyway) – but still there were a good number of golds scored.

Shelagh’s first session this season was memorable for a couple of reasons. Firstly, after a few warm-up rounds, she was hitting golds reliably. Secondly (not so good), she brought along a fresh, crisp £20 note to pay her annual subs. Well, that pesky wind had other ideas! And somehow the twenty was taken into the atmosphere… (think Winnie the Pooh!) and never seen again. We even moved all of the cars, searched the bushes and walked the field.

So if anyone happens across a £20 note in the recreation field, it’s lonely and looking for its owner – so take pity!

Glenn continued to score well, but most of us are simply putting that down to his All Saints Archery hat. We’re about the place our orders.

Archer Glenn – what a hat!

Business was short during the tea-break. A reminder from Ken to put ideas in to the pot for this season’s David Lench trophy. The only other item was the renewal of the club’s insurance policy. It was decided to add the certificate to the website. You can view it here.

The weather looks good for the next session – so why not come along and give archery a try.
