Guest Photographer at Gala Event

On Saturday 13th September, the All Saints Parish Council organised a Gala Event to commemorate the end of WWII.

We sent our roving photographer (Ted) out with a camera to take some photos of the day.

There are 2 galleries, the first shows some of the setup and the second shows some of the fun.

The Setup

The first photo gallery below are the photos Ted managed to get of the setup at the Old Cricket Field. The marquee proved (as always) great fun to put up, but the weather was sunny and everyone played a role (with a pole).

When it was up, the team decorated it with Union Flags and bunting, and the Headmaster arrived to install the children’s artworks set up on the archery stands.

Then the sky darkened and the rain came – and everyone was a bit worried (although Rita doesn’t look that worried to be honest).

The pavilion was decorated with bunting and flags and the quilt was installed. One resident said they “…had never seen the pavilion looking so splendid both inside and out”. Great work by all the volunteers – now that’s what teamwork is all about.

Everything looked beautiful – and then the sun came out again.

Anyways – here are the photos. Click an image to enlarge, scroll and read the captions.

The Event

Good old Ted also managed to get some photos of the afternoon action. He also (cleverly) managed to get in some of the shots himself with the help of an able assistant. You’ll spot him if you look carefully.

So all in all – I think we can agree that it was a great afternoon. Big thanks to Ted (and his friends) for recording these memories.
