Here we go again, another year but sadly – and a sign of the times perhaps – my first message to you all in 2026 has to be a Neighbourhood Watch crime warning.
In last week’s Which? Scam Alert newsletter I received, the lead item was about how a fraudster can sometimes keep using your card after you’ve cancelled it and received a replacement which was something I’d not come across before. Consequently, thought it worth sending around as having to cancel a card is something that I suspect a few of us have had to do at some point or another – you can read all the details about how this can happen, including steps on how you can prevent it, by following the link below:

Scam Alert newsletter is a very useful source of the latest ‘tricks’ that the undesirables use to extract as much information and money as they can from us and what steps we can take to keep ourselves safe. Sorry, had hoped that my first missive of 2026 might have been something more light hearted and jovial but will try harder next time.
