Hello everyone,
The figures are now in and Libby has asked me to let you all now know (!) that the total sum raised for the British Legion through the annual poppy collection in the village was £888.21p.
I love the 21p at the end of that figure as I can’t remember when I last had a 1p in my pocket so nice to know they haven’t disappeared entirely off the face of the earth – I am probably not the only one who can remember a time when you could actually buy something for 1p!
She also would like to thank everyone for their generous contributions to this sum and to all those who did the trudging around collecting everyone’s donations, all of which was very much appreciated by The British Legion.
