Latest Archery News

We haven’t had an update from the Archery Group for a couple of weeks now – so here it is…

Tuesday 6th August – the turnout was good, but due to the roadworks and gridlock in Axminster, poor Shelagh couldn’t fight her way through the traffic and had to turnaround and go home.

This session was not an All Gold session so there’s no update on the scores this week.

Ken reminded us that next week’s session will have the shared picnic with the ladies from Cogs weather permitting.

Tuesday 13th August was another (not) All Gold session, though Hazel did get a first (for her) gold, so Ken and Peter said she could enter it into the competition. The weather wasn’t the best so it was decided by the ladies at Cogs to defer their picnic.

Not withstanding the conditions, archers managed to shoot the full 20 rounds – so not too shabby at all.

Tuesday 20th August – Hurrah! It’s an All Gold session. Weather was good and we had 2 new recruits join us – Vin and Dee. Welcome to them (see photo).

This was another 20 round session in good conditions.

Glenn was up to his usual high-scoring tricks, though this time it was all skill and no skulduggery! So well done to him for scoring a total of 8 golds during the session – that’s a record. The photo was a bit premature and only shows the first 6 of his 8.

The scoring table has now got an extra column to show how many sessions the archer has competed in, and until all archers have the same number of sessions under their belt, it’s quite difficult to tell who’s in front. Well… you be the judge.
